Historic Spanish Point
Spanish Point features 5,000 years of history through prehistoric pioneer era buildings, Indian mounds, and gorgeous gardens. This is a 30-acre historical, archaeological, and environmental museum located on Little Sarasota Bay. This destination also contains picnic facilities, nature trails, and a butterfly garden.
Casey Key Fish House
The Casey Key Fish House is an “Old Florida” waterfront restaurant with exceptional food and a casual dining experience. Every seat in the restaurant has a view of the water. The restaurant can be accessed by car or boat as it has a 200 feet deep water dock. There are also on-site rentals for jet skis, paddle boards, kayaks, fishing charters, and boats.
Oscar Scherer State Park
Oscar Scherer is a hidden nature preserve for imperiled species surrounded by urban sprawl. This is a hidden gem in the Osprey area. Bald eagles can be found here in the winter and in the summer Lake Osprey attracts anglers, swimmers, and kayakers. This 15-mile trail is a beautiful adventure and is a popular stop for bicyclists on the Legacy Trail.
Osprey Fishing Pier
The Osprey Fishing Pier is a great place to relax and fish. Their amenities include a boat ramp, canoe/kayak launch, and fishing pier. This pier has beautiful views and is also a great destination for bird watching.
